Software Remapping is often Irreversible
When a company offers to re-map your car they download software to your car which they have either purchased or written themselves. This software can then be downloaded on to as many vehicles as required. This is extremely cost-effective for the company providing the re-mapping, as they incur only initial purchase costs however, in many cases the software can be unstable, irreversible and always with out warranty and can case excessive smoke from the exhaust.

P-Box Features Tuning Options
The P-Box has adjustments within the box so the user can fine tune the performance of the box to suit their own individual requirements. The standard increase in performance is 20% but if you open up the box you can adjust the performance up or down 30% of the 20% gained.

Auto Lusso has been selling new Alfa Romeo cars for many years and in the past we have purchased equipment to re-map cars but we have found this to be unreliable. The only product that we use or recommend for new Alfa Romeos is P-Box. As the owner of a new car the last thing you want to do is to invalidate the manufactures warranty, the P-Box has its own 3 year warranty to run alongside your manufacturer’s warranty.

We believe the P-Box is the best product available for the Alfa Romeo range, so much so that we have taken up the opportunity of having exclusive selling rights to this product in the UK.

There is a Sport Version of the P-Box that will give a larger increase of power but this product only comes with a one year guarantee on the unit itself. We will supply this product but we do not advise its use on new cars. This will take the 1.9 JTD M-Jet from 150 BHP to 200 BHP and on the 159 2.4 JTD M-Jet can increase power from 200BHP to 270 BHP this also requires the use of an upgraded air filter.

The Three-years’ Warranty on the STEINBAUER P-Box

The STEINBAUER Tuning Technologies Austria GmbH issues a warranty for damage on engine, gearbox and transmission according to the warranty confirmation.

Cost-binding additional or agility guarantees and all components of the automobile which are not related to the power enhancement are not included in this warranty.

Exception:
Upgraded versions (Sport Version) of the STEINBAUER P-Box are supplied only on demand of the customer. In this case STEINBAUER Tuning Technologies Austria GmbH does not offer a warranty for engine, gearbox and power train.
On the STEINBAUER P-Box a 3 years’ warranty is granted, but only in case of appropriate use and correct installation.

The P-Box is available from Auto Lusso for all Alfa Romeo diesels and we offer full fitting facilities. Some of the P-Box units can be sent out to customers to fit themselves, this depends on which model Alfa Romeo you have. Please phone for details.

Does the power enhancement have a negative impact on the engine?
The power enhancement of the STEINBAUER P-Box is within the power reserve of engine, gearbox etc. That means you can enjoy the improved performance of your vehicle with no effect on its longevity and long term reliability.

Are any changes to the brakes necessary?
No, you don’t need to modify the brakes.

Are there particularities for vehicles with automatic transmission?
No, you can use the STEINBAUER P-Box for vehicles with automatic transmission.

Does the fuel consumption increase?
There may be a small increase of fuel consumption when driving hard. If you maintain your style of driving you can expect the same or in some cases even a lower fuel consumption.

Do I have to register the power enhancement?
For the legal use of the STEINBAUER P-Box you have to register it into the car documents. If it’s not being registered it’s up to the customer’s own responsibilities and risks.

Is it possible to undo the tuning?
Yes it is. After unplugging the P-Box the car is back to it’s original performance.

Do I have to shorten the service intervals?
The standard service intervals remain unchanged.

Is it possible to turn off the power enhancement?
Yes it is, you can also turn off the STEINBAUER P-Box with an optional remote control while you are driving.
