Frequently Asked Questions about Auto Lusso
Q. Are the Alfa Romeos you sell to UK specification?
A. All the cars we supply are to full UK specification.
Q. How long does it take to get my new Alfa Romeo?
A. (i) If the car is in stock, and you are able to arrange insurance and finance for the vehicle, collection can take place on the day you order your new car;
(ii) If the car has been built, delivery to Auto Lusso is approximately 2 weeks;
(iii) If the car is due to be built the lead time is approximately 6 to 8 weeks;
(iv) For factory orders, allow approximately 12-16 week delivery times;
Q. Can you guarantee a delivery time?
A. We can never guarantee a delivery time as there are too many
factors outside of our control, from production, transport companies,
customs, factory strikes and the DVLA!
Q Are the Alfa Romeos you sell the same as the ones sold
by my local Alfa Romeo dealer?
A. Yes. Our cars are technically identical and are built on the
same production line in Italy as UK franchise dealers' cars.
Q If I request an HPi report on the car you sell will it
come up as an import?
A No, the car will be listed as a UK supplied vehicle. On request
we can supply you with a registration number for one of our supplied
cars to check this.
Q. Will my Alfa Romeo be worth less in the future than
a car bought from my local Alfa Romeo dealer?
A. No, our cars are ordered to a very high specification so are likely to be worth more in the future. With the Alfa Romeo brand it is very important to buy the right specification and colour. It is advisable always to have leather and wheel upgrades as this will affect the future value of your Alfa Romeo more than where you bought it from.
Q. Will you buy my Alfa Romeo back from me in the future?
A. Yes, if your car is one of the cars we order for stock e.g. a high specification diesel we will buy the car back from you, usually at full book price. This will obviously depend on mileage and condition.
Q. What warranty do I get with my new Alfa Romeo?
A. You get a 2 year manufacturers warranty and a 1 year dealer warranty.
Q. Is my manufacturers warranty the same as the warranty I would get
from my Alfa Romeo local dealer?
A. All manufactures warranties are the same which ever country your Alfa Romeo comes from.
Q. When does my warranty start from?
A. Your warranty starts from the day of UK registration which will typically be 2 days before you collect your car.
Q. Can I get my car serviced and have warranty work done
at my local Alfa Romeo dealer?
A. Franchise service departments are legally obliged to carry out warranty work and will be more than happy to complete required work.
Q. Will you take my old car in part exchange?
A. Yes. We would need you to fill in our part exchange form and e-mail or fax it back and we will give you a trade price for your car.
Q. If I manage to sell my current car for more money than
you have offered in part exchange will this affect the price of my new car?
A. No we would prefer you to sell your own car and want you to get as much as possible for it.
Q. Can you sell my car for me?
A. Once you have ordered a car from us we will be happy to list you car on e-bay for you and we will give you the final selling price of your vehicle. There is no charge for this service. You can either send us good quality pictures of your car or come here and we will photograph your car for you.
Q. Can we come and see your premises to view and test drive
an Alfa Romeo of our choice?
A. Customers are always welcome to come and see us and take a test drive - we make a great cup of tea!
Q. Is the deposit I pay secure?
A. Yes all deposits are taken by credit card, and are therefore protected by your credit card company.
Q. When do I have to pay for my new Alfa Romeo?
A. We recommend using your debit card on collection.
Q. Can I change my mind about the Alfa Romeo I have ordered,
colour or specification?
A. We would have no problem swapping you in to an alternative car. This can sometimes cause a delay in delivery.
Q. Why are the cars so much cheaper that my local dealer?
A. We don't offer the entire Alfa Romeo range: we order cars to
a pre-agreed specification and we order lots of them to get the
price we can offer you. It is also your right under European law
to buy your car from whatever country you wish: we simply act as
your agent.
Q. Can I order a lower specification car that the cars
you offer?
A. You can but it will not reduce the price by much.
Q. Can I order a higher specification car than you offer?
A. Yes, this will mean that you car will be a factory order which will take approximately 12 – 16 weeks.
Q. Do I get break down cover included?
A. Our cars do not come with AA cover.
Q. Do you offer finance?
A. Yes we can offer finance. The majority of our finance is supplied
through Alphera (BMW Auto Finance).
Q. Where is the nearest train station and can I be collected
from there when I come and get my new Alfa Romeo?
A. Leighton Buzzard is the nearest train station and we will happily
collect you from the station when you come and collect your new
Alfa Romeo. (We don't advise using Cheddington Rail Station)
Q. Are you near an Airport and will you collect me when
I come and collect my new Alfa Romeo?
A. We’re near Luton airport and we will happily come and collect
you from the airport, we do this regularly as we have many customers
from Scotland.
Q. What does OTR mean?
A. OTR means ‘On The Road’ - nothing extra to pay, no
hidden charges.
Q. Will you deliver my new car to me if required
A. Yes we will but we prefer that cars are collected to avoid possible
minor damage that may occur if the car is driven such as stone chips.
There will be a charge which we can quote for you.
